Sneak Peek: Moody Ballet Styled Shoot + An Epic Dance Video

We've reached mid-week, East Maders, and I already can't wait until the weekend! A quick jaunt to NYC awaits, where I have some plans for Carnegie Hall, an Eataly lunch, and I will totally be dragging Justin to M&J Trimming to shop their huge ribbon selection! #patienthubby

If you follow East Made on Instagram @eastmadeeventco you may have already seen this photo but I had to post a quick share on the blog as well!

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to organize my second styled bridal photoshoot in Richmond, Virginia, and it turned out more wonderfully than I could have ever imagined. The theme of the shoot was ballet bridal but with a moody twist. This was originally a concept from Serena of Love by Serena Photography and I'm so glad she trusted me to style and design it!

I had been in a lavender/plum phase in late winter when I started sourcing materials and wanted to incorporate this color palette into the shoot, so I styled our model in this delicate lilac cami and skirt from Alexandra Grecco. I can't wait to share more photos and a full vendor list from the shoot, as well as a stunning video from Josh Gooden Cinema

Our models were Kirk and Valerie, a real married couple in the Richmond Ballet! They recently danced the lead roles in Romeo and Juliet (very emotional parts for any married couple to play, if you are familiar with the tragic story).

You may have also seen them in this epic video which was featured on People, US Weekly, and Today. Kirk and his groomsmen surprised Valerie with an amazing choreographed dance at their wedding, basically ensuring his status as one of the most legendary grooms of all time. Not even kidding.

Please be sure to check back for more photos from this shoot and to see more of this stunning real-life couple! They were a dream to work with - hilarious, friendly, beautiful, and super comfortable in front of the camera. I can't wait to share more!

For now, enjoy your week and this gorgeous spring weather!
